The premises recently underwent some major restyling, in partnership with the Expo organizer Cosmit, by the famous Milan architects Studio Cerri e Associati.
The organization of space suggests the long and narrow shape of the “bean pod” – one of the buildings designed by Fuksas for eating in the Fiera – thus evoking the ambience of a restaurant car.
The etched windows looking out over the exterior turn into train windows, lending a certain intimacy, while the comfortable wooden benches, with their modern, minimalist lines, recall the ordered spaces in a train and work well with the designer chairs in various shapes and colours (red on the ground floor, orange on the 1st floor).
Of particular note: the Coray chairs designed by Hans Coray and produced by Proform; the Pipe Chairs by Jasper Morrison; the Ivy designed by Paola Navona and produced by Emu; the Leaf designed by Carlo Colombo and produced by Moroso; the Supernatural designed by Jasper Morrison and produced by Moroso and the 918-Nine Eighteen designed by Fabio Di Bartolomei.
Another design priority is the lighting, which, while being perfectly functional, cannot resist a touch of discreet monumentality in certain historic items of design, from Gio Ponti’s XXL024 chandelier, produced by FontanaArte, to the Falkland lamps designed by Bruno Munari and produced by Danese.
Redesigned, along with the restaurant, is its menu, which now offers a wide choice of international cuisine specialities, ranging from chilli con carne to paella, from fajitas to cous cous or sushi, not to mention some great Italian recipes.
