Exhibition in Milan
Open from 4th to 12th November at the Ottagono in Piazza Duomo in Milan and from 14th to 30th November in the nearby Loggia dei Mercanti, Autogrill’s exhibition tells the story, in words and photos, of an Italian company set up in Milan thirty years ago and which is now a byword in 41 countries around the world.
Its internationalization and diversification are the result of alliances and partnerships that fully respect local lifestyles and food&wine traditions. Not standardization of business models or a simple aggregation of sales figures, but hybridization of business models, integration of know-how and enhancement of brand capital. The exhibition thus traces the Company’s journey out of the past (and into the future) under four main headings: the environment and sustainability, internationalism; history and taste.
Travelling Exhibition
An exhibition will be organized in November and December 2007 in four of the most representative Autogrill locations in Italy - Milano Linate, Milano Malpensa and Roma Fiumicino airports and Roma Termini railway station - and in Brussels Airport. A checkerboard type wall display with rotating squares will illustrate various aspects of Autogrill: locations past and present, brands, products and people. The approach is interactive, to attract “people on the move", Autogrill’s target, and show them the history of a company, set up in Italy, which has in 30 years become the world’s biggest provider of food & beverage and retail services in airports, on motorways and in railway stations, with operations in 41 countries.
On the Move: the Book
The first of the new “Skira per l’impresa” series, “On the move - nel paesaggio di Autogrill” is a book that works on different levels (photographic, scientific and general interest) and adopts an international and multi-disciplinary approach in presenting the various aspects of Autogrill’s business. The book is in four sections (Travel culture, Desires, Places and Company time) rounded off by an historical profile of the Company, from the appearance of the first “autogrill” as a place of refreshment (1947) to the multinational dimension it has today.
“On the move - nel paesaggio di Autogrill” is also richly illustrated, with around 200 images of the Group’s past and present, and contains some interesting insights by various people of international renown, including Al Gore, Steven Spielberg, Lanfranco Senn, Francesco Giavazzi, Enrico Ghezzi and Marc Augé.
