The opening, on 30.06.2010, was attended by Autogrill Group chairman Gilberto Benetton, Sky Italia CEO Tom Mockridge and Grandi Stazioni CEO Fabio Battaggia.
There were also several representatives of local and national government, including mayor of Milan Letizia Moratti, Regione Lombardia president Roberto Formigoni, Provincia di Milano head of finance Luca Squeri and economy vice-Minister Giuseppe Vegas.
A conference was held on the theme of travellers’ passion for sport (“The 2010 World Cup: travellers with a passion”), at which the participants also included Zvonimir Boban and Josè João Altafini.
The Milano Centrale Sky Lounge is the third opened by Autogrill after the airport Sky Lounges at Milano Malpensa in October 2007 and Roma Fiumicino in January 2010.
