Independent rock trends at a historic Festival
From September 16 through 18, the 22nd edition of the historical Festival Tendenze will take place in Piacenza. This festival is dedicated to independent rock and for three days you can enjoy over 40 free concerts along with DJ-sets and exhibit areas.

From September 16 to October 15 the show "Sarah Moon in Parma. Photographs" will be held in the Palazzetto Eucherio Sanvitale inside the Parco Ducale. It is curated by Carla Sozzani, well-known Italian gallery owner and creator of the 10 Corso Como exhibition area in Milan. The show is dedicated to French photography, which explores the themes of time and beauty with its shots.
Discovering the treasures of the Piacenza museums
As part of the 2016 European Heritage Days, on September 24 and 25 the Piacenza Museum Network will offer a series of initiatives to raise awareness of the treasures housed in their museums with extra evening openings and free guided visits along with social initiatives such as tastings and get-togethers.
Verdi October
In Parma and Busseto, the whole month of October is dedicated to celebrating the author of Nabucco with the annual edition of the Verdi Festival. The composer's primary works will be performed at the city theatres starting with Don Carlo at the Teatro Regio on October 1st. There will also be many workshops and activities including those for children and youths within the VerdiYoung program.

Enjoy a glass and a slice at the Coppa and Gutturnio Festival
In October, Piacenza is once again the host of the Gutturnio Festival and the Coppa Gold Medal, dedicated to two excellent traditional products from Piacenza. Along with the two competitions, there will also be tastings, conferences, and music.
The black truffle harvest festival
Fragno, a town in the province of Parma surrounded by the Val Baganza forests has been the host of the annual National Black Truffle Festival for years. This prized tuber is abundant in the area. The 2016 edition will be held from October 9 to November 13 and, as always, there will be various activities to raise awareness and appreciation of the black truffle on both a gastronomic and economic level.
Celebration of Piacenza red gold
Another product, which is very important for the local economy, will also be celebrated in October - the tomato, with a fifth of its national production concentrated in Lombardy and Emilia. This red gold will be celebrated through many initiatives throughout the city, from cooking shows to educational workshops for children, special menus in the restaurants, and conferences regarding its role in diet and nutrition.

The fourteenth edition of the Piacenza Jazz Fest, a major engagement for those who love this genre of music, will be held between February and March 2017. Each year you can attend concerts by national and international artists along with various themed events, from workshops to literary presentations.
