Hospitality Manager Café Coco, Schiphol, The Netherlands
"I hope that one day there will be a world where we treat everyone equally. Whether you are male or female, whatever your religion or race is."
Could you tell us shortly the story of your career path at Autogrill/HMSHost, highlighting your key personal and professional milestones?
My journey with HMSHost Netherlands started 10 years ago as a barista at Cafe Chocolat at Schiphol Airport. Since then, I made an enormous growth to my current role as Hospitality Manager. I am thankful for the people who guided and coached me on this journey. Due to this attention and help I have learned so much that I was able to make this growth with HMSHost. Every day is different and I love working with people around me, I still learn a lot of new things every day.
Working at Autogrill/HMSHost for me is…
I love working with my colleagues every day and make guests feel comfortable while they are traveling and visiting our beautiful Café Coco at the Airport. HMSHost feels like a second home for me, thanks to the people around me. It gives me energy when I work with my enthusiastic team and I trust them. They will always create a place for our guest where they love to stay, feel welcome and would like to return.
What would you suggest to a woman who is starting her career at Autogrill/HMSHost?
Believe in yourself and dare to ask questions! Nothing is impossible and your colleagues are always offering a helping hand and willing to help you. Be open to learn every day something new and continue to improve yourself by asking questions.
What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
I realize that equality is not a natural concept in many countries. This is a moment to remember that we as women in the Netherlands have the same rights as everyone, like to vote and make decisions. As a young professional woman, it's difficult for me to imagine that the Netherlands hasn't always been the way it is now. I hope that one day there will be a world where we treat everyone equally. Whether you are male or female, whatever your religion or race is. Everyone deserves equal rights!.
