Could you tell us shortly the story of your career path at Autogrill/HMSHost, highlighting your key personal and professional milestones?
I am 26 years old. I started to work as Barista in Starbucks at the HMSHost Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Istanbul in 2014. In my Starbucks career, with the positive effect of the trainings that I received from my management team, I was promoted to Shift Supervisor two years later. Continuing to work hard, I was then promoted to the position of assistant store manager in Landside Starbucks in 2018. I was granted an award: Employee of the Month two times in our operation. At the end of 2019, just before the pandemic period, I was promoted as Store Manager of the international airside Starbucks store in the Sabiha Gokcen Airport. This year I was also awarded Starbucks Coffee Master Certification and proudly continue to wear my coffee master apron.
Working at Autogrill/HMSHost for me is…
I had my first working experience at HMSHost which will always have an important place in my life. The reason I've stayed with this company for a long time is because of its strong company values, which are reflected in how they treat employees and how we work towards upholding those values.
What would you suggest to a woman who is starting her career at Autogrill/HMSHost?
In order to succeed in our Group, it is important to have a strong command of company values and conduct business in an ethical way. Additionally, it's crucial to evaluate all feedback received, remain open to different opinions, and be able to express your ideas clearly.
What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
March 8th is a very special day where women all over the world express their desire to live a more peaceful, happier and more valuable life. Emphasizing that every individual should have equal and fundamental rights, regardless of gender, on World Women's Day, it is a great situation to have the same idea, and to raise voices from all over the world for the struggle for equality. Of course, every day, every moment is very valuable and important for women, who are the architects of society. Happy International Women's Day.
