Autogrill: HMSHost signs an agreement to continue operating service areas along the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway until 2044

Autogrill (Milan: AGL IM) announced today that the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) has signed a contract with the American subsidiary HMSHost Tollroads to provide food and beverage in 16 service areas along the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway until 2044.

 This contract replaces the previous one expiring in 2020. Estimated total revenue over the period amounts to around $ 6 billion.

 “HMSHost is delighted to continue partnering with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to offer its services to travellers in New Jersey,” said HMSHost President and CEO Steve Johnson, “Under this agreement we’ll be operating for further 27 years one of the most successful partnerships on American motorways, enabling us to bring even higher levels of service and excellent brands to two of the busiest transport routes in the United States”

The service areas will be rebuilt or redeveloped to create more open, brighter spaces, with a strong focus on traveller safety. The new building designs will reflect the latest trends in sustainability, with maximized use of natural light along with the introduction of LED lighting and the use of recycled building materials. The buildings will have energy-saving heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, new generation insulation and water-saving systems.
