Autogrill guarantees current employment levels in the La Macchia area

Milano , 12 April 2002 - In connection with a number of agency reports published today on the Shell / Autogrill agreements for the La Macchia service area, Autogrill said that it had a contractual undertaking with Shell to guarantee current employment levels in the area.
“For Autogrill, the La Macchia operation is a specific business opportunity rather than a strategic interest,” pointed out Autogrill Chief Executive Officer Livio Buttignol. “Autogrill does not intend to develop a large-scale fuel distribution business.”
